I have become aware that my absence from the Lochgilphead Farmers' Markets has led to the mistaken assumption that I have stopped making jams. 😢This is not the case! 😊
I am still as busy as ever making jam, marmalade, chutney and lemon curd along with the occasional pickles and other random requests. They are still available in the garden stall with its honesty box as well as stocked in various local shops and cafes.
Remember that you can also use the website to buy on a 'click and collect' basis, paying by Paypal or with a credit card and just collecting the prepared order directly from the shelf under the Garden Stall.
You will notice that I have a box marked 'Empty Jars'. That is so that you can return your used jars to me. I am unable to re-use lids so they are not necessary, but the jars are very welcome. I know removing the labels can be troublesome so don't worry about that. I am very happy to receive jars with old labels still attached.
We are going to miss being at the market and it was not a decision that we had planned. The van just died on us, and it was not economical to replace it. It was only used once a month for the market yet had all the usual vehicle associated costs - tax, insurance, MOT and maintenance.
So with great sadness we decided that we will not be standing outside in the cold wind and rain in the Co-op carpark this winter :) Of course we will pop along to say 'hi' to the other stallholders who have become our friends over the 6 years we have been at the market and we will continue to support the market .
I am currently getting ready for Christmas orders and have already got Christmas Chutney and mincemeat available. 🎄
