As the pictures show - I have had surgery to both my feet!
Clearly this means I have not been able to make any preserves at all, but I did have a few weeks' warning so was able to maximise my stock levels to tide me over until I am back on my feet again.
I am not able to attend the Lochgilphead Farmers' Market until I am safely walking again without crutches - obviously :) The doctors pointed out to me that having two feet done at the same time increases the risk of other accidental injury should I trip or fall. I would hate to prove them right, so will not be taking any chances!
In the meantime Neil is making sure that the Jam Stall in the garden remains fully stocked, and has been delivering the wholesale orders. He has also learned how to use the washing machine, dishwasher and oven! To be fair he has been very attentive and has even postponed going fishing although the season has started.
I have some very lovely friends who have plied me with gifts, with a special call out to Debbie who has taken Bonnie for so many lovely walks! I'm not sure that Debbie realises that she will never be able walk past our house ever again as Bonnie now sees Debbie and goes ballistic thinking its time for walkies. I should also add that Lesley has also helped me stay sane during this time and also kept me entertained with her humorous messages!
Getting back to Jam - Remember as always, the Garden Stall has an honesty box and is open every day. If you are looking for a specific selection then these can be ordered through the website or via messenger or email and Neil will put the order together and label it so it can be collected from the garden stall. Online orders via the website can still be posted out as usual.
Just a gentle reminder- I also welcome back my own jars (not lids) so that they can be reused. There is a box on the lower shelf of the Garden Stall where they can be deposited at any time.
